Many groomers wouldn’t do this, it’s just a trick I personally use to help avoid knotting between grooms. I take a few knot prone areas super short, so that the owner doesn’t have to worry about brushing these between grooms. I view coat maintenance as teamwork between the groomer, owner and the dog!
