This is a rare 1942 Chevrolet "blackout." Produced at the beginning of WWII, many cars built in the short time frame between Dec. 7, 1941 and Feb. 1942 had much of their brightwork (chrome) replaced with painted trim, as metals were required for war time production. Civilian automobiles production stopped by mid Feb. 1942 and wouldn't resume until July 1945. | This Day in Automotive History - Drive History
