Our Corsair was manufactured by Goodyear in April of 1945. The aircraft was delivered to Marine Squadron VMF-115, part of Marine Air Group 12, at Moret Field near Zamboanga on Mindanao (Philippines). From June 7th to August 29th, 1945, our aircraft took part in more than 30 combat missions, performing bombing runs, napalm strikes, and rocket attacks. After the war, the plane served in a variety of training roles across the United States before being sold into private hands. At one point, it flew
