At least 2,800 years old, this figure of a man is attributed to the Neo-Assyrian culture of Ancient Mesopotamia, and was excavated from Nimrud (ancient Kalhu). It is carved from elephant ivory and depicts a striding male holding the horns of an oryx, with a monkey perched on his shoulder and traces of a leopard skin once draped over his arm.
