During the movie, the moon appears to rotate through about 115 degrees and the range varies from 253,000 to 64,000 km (158,000 to 40,000 miles). 🌌 Mimas — the tiny Saturn moon with a big secret This is Mimas, a small, cratered moon that looks like a frozen rock. In 2024, a team re-analyzed Cassini tracking data and found strong evidence that Mimas hides a global ocean beneath its icy shell — about 20–30 kilometers under the surface — and that the ocean is young, likely less than 25 million years old. 🧪 How did they figure this out? Instead of looking for geysers or fractures, researchers modeled subtle changes in Mimas’s orbit and rota
