In this video, CAL FIRE's Daniel Berlant explain's how landmarks often determine what the fire will be called. For instance, the Lake Fire was named after its location at Lake Hughes Road and Pine Canyon Road. It could have also been called the Hughes Fire or the Pine Fire or the Canyon Fire.
