Foreign aid reached record high of $161.2bn during COVID

It was a 3.5% increase in real terms from 2019, due to extra spending to help developing countries tackle the coronavirus pandemic. But OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría said more needs to be done to support the vaccine roll-out and tackle the economic and social fallout.
