But when I want to work with the RAW file and use the menu item to switch the pair to use the RAW file as the original, some apps (in particular RAW Power) which have extensions don't get what the app sees as a RAW file.

Apr 2, 2019 · As Kurt Lang and JimmyCMPIT pointed out, JPEG and JPG are the same thing. What you CAN do is save photos as HEIF. Go to Settings/Camera - Formats and choose High Efficiency, or choose Most Compatible if you want JPEG (JPG). The downside of HEIF is that Windows doesn't deal with it, and any older photo management apps won't know what it is.
