The Minnesota Vikings had to wait a little while before signing quarterback J.J. McCarthy to his rookie contract. The contract was agreed to two days prior to McCarthy reporting to training camp and he signed the deal once he reported to TCO Performance Center.

The Vikings had two of their starters suffer injuries and they missed either all or part of practice on Thursday.
