In his third day in office, President Donald Trump signed more executive orders aimed at shutting down the U.S. southern border to immigration and ramping up deportations — though large scale deportation raids had yet to materialize as of Wednesday afternoon.

From ending birthright citizenship to declaring an emergency at the southern border, Trump signed several orders restricting immigration.

Philadelphia officials met Wednesday to reinforce the city's responsibilities and policies on immigration and address the limits of their power compared to the federal government in light of recent executive orders signed by President Trump early into his second term.
