Fort Worth ISD will have to make aggressive and immediate improvements after a district school repeatedly received failing scores in the state's accountability ratings, the Texas education commissioner warned district leaders this week.

The TEA told the state it could take over managing the school district or close one school that has failed five consecutive years.

Complicating matters is that the state rating comes two years delayed because of lawsuits — and Fort Worth officials already closed the failing campus.
