The 2028 Games will be the first Olympics to be hosted by the U.S. since the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City, Utah.

President Donald Trump is scheduled to sign an executive order Tuesday creating a federal task force on the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavi tt issued a statement on Monday acknowledging the move, which was to be formally announced at a signing ceremony attended by athletes and Olympics officials.

The group would likely work with Los Angeles officials, who have a strained relationship with President Trump, ahead of the 2028 Olympics.
