Showers and storms fire up again Thursday afternoon. A few isolated showers are possible along the coast late this morning. More rain will develop throughout the afternoon. Highs reach the lower 90s but feel more like the triple digits. Showers and storms are forecasted every day this week and into next week.
After plenty of sunshine and a high temperature of 80 yesterday, we’re tracking a weak cold front that will cool us down today, then we are looking at multiple chances for showers over the next several days;
A few more stray showers are possible overnight, but realistically a lot of the nighttime hours will still be dry. Lows will fall to 56 degrees with a northeast wind at 5 to 10 mph. The most persistent rain overnight is expected to stay in Northern Michigan, more for places like Traverse City, Gaylord, and Alpena.

Tropical moisture will hang around today bringing enhanced rain chances to the area. Mainly morning showers coming in along the coast, then afternoon thunderstorms inland and around the lake.
It’s been a pleasant summer day around Mid-Michigan with plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures, and we haven’t had to look over our shoulder for any rainfall. While some areas could still use it, we at least have a day where we can feel good about working outside with no issues or just enjoy a walk around the area.
