Alabama schools closing, delaying opening Thursday, Jan. 23 and Friday, Jan. 24
A historic winter storm in south Alabama on Tuesday brought well over 6 inches of snow to the region and many counties to advise against civilians driving on the roads. Due to the weather conditions many schools throughout the state closed or were delayed Tuesday and Wednesday.

Dothan City Schools closed another day after announcing they would reopen Friday. However, Superintendent Dr. Dennis Coe said, based on current information, he believed the best and safest decision was to cancel classes one more day.
