Samsung confirmed that a slimmer S25 model is on the way, but it now turns out that the phone will be called the S25 Edge.

The Galaxy S24 FE that could be thought of as the Slim's predecessor is 8 mm thin, which isn't as thin as the 7.2mm Galaxy S25 that just debuted. One rumor suggests that the goal would be to approximate the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which is 5.6mm thin when unfolded, but another number being floated around is 6.4mm.

What will be announced has not finally been decided yet. But certainly US, Korea will be announced (sic). And then that model might be available as a second (wave) launch.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge was not part of the announcement, but it was heavily teased and showed off to attendees.

Don’t be surprised if the Samsung Galaxy S25’s fresh approach ends up making believers out of the AI agnostics.
