Transfer portal season has started. The portal doesn't open up until Dec. 9, but with the end of the regular season Saturday, players have begun making their decisions to enter the portal.

The Oklahoma Sooners have been looking for some veterans to add to their young tight end room in the transfer portal. On Wednesday evening, the Sooners earned a commitment from Louisiana Tech transfer tight end John Locke.

Former Oklahoma State star linebacker/safety Kendal Daniels committed on Monday, he told On3. A former Freshman All-American and Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year, Daniels totaled 240 tackles, 7.5 Sacks, 13 pass deflections, five interceptions and two fumble recoveries in three seasons with the Cowboys.

Carter was a four-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class and the No. 11 linebacker in the cycle. Out of Tampa Catholic, Carter’s speed and athleticism made him one of the more highly regarded backers in 2023. He had 33 Power Four offers coming out of high school.

The Oklahoma Sooners added their second special teamer from Kennesaw State, signing former Owls kicker Austin Welch. Welch reunites with former teammates tight end Carson Kent and punter Jacob

Nic Anderson (LSU), Andrel Anthony (Duke), Jalil Farooq (Maryland), JJ Hester (Kentucky), Jaquaize Pettaway (East Carolina) and Brenen Thompson (Mississippi State) all departed the program. It didn't take long for head coach Brent Venables and receivers coach Emmett Jones to get to work finding their replacements.

The Sooners brought in the Florida State starter for a campus visit this week, and apparently Jones' visit went extremely well.

University of Oklahoma football has picked up a transfer portal commitment from in-state rival Oklahoma State University. On Monday, former Cowboy Kendal Daniels made it official that he was leaving Stillwater for Norman this fall.

One of Oklahoma State’s top defenders in the portal is staying in the state. On Monday, Hayes Fawcett of On3 reported that transfer safety Kendal Daniels has committed to Oklahoma. Daniels spent the first four seasons of his career at OSU and was a staple of the Cowboys' defense throughout the past three years.
