Stefanik, responding to a memo from NYSCOPBA, the corrections workers union, from last week largely blaming the state for ignoring warning signs of the brewing crisis and strike threats amongst prison workers,

Gov. Kathy Hochul lead over Rep. Elise Stefanik in a hypothetical 2026 race for governor narrowed to 14 points from 23 points in the latest Siena poll.

"Is 14 points a danger sign? Well, in New York, it's certainly a warning sign," a Siena University pollster told Newsweek.
