Burr and musical guest Mk.gee aimed to keep things light for most of the show, but offered a few moments of political humor that didn't always land. As Burr took the stage for his monologue, he initially tried to forgo commenting on the current state of affairs,

"Who was sitting there watching the debate still undecided... 'Let’s see what the orange bigot has to say. What about the real estate agent who speaks through her nose?’"
