Are Banks Open on MLK Day 2026? Plus Stock Market Hours

As is the case with most federal holidays, a majority of banks, credit unions and other financial institutions will be closed on MLK Day and won’t reopen until Tuesday, Jan. 20. The U.S. stock market will also be closed on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, reopening again Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. ET.
