A popular dating app has unveiled a new safety feature, with Aussies forced to verify their profiles with a ‘live selfie’ to stamp out bots and scammers linked to crime syndicates.

The owner fo the ill-fated Hawthorne Plaza, who did not return requests for comment, was ordered by a judge to demolish or redevelop the site within a year.
