As the 2024-25 regular season winds down, the MVP debates have gone from a simmering heat to an arctic cold in recent weeks. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continues to dominate and the Oklahoma City Thunder continue to win.

Carmelo Anthony feels that Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will have a similar career trajectory to Dwyane Wade.

Both Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jaylin Williams were nominated for lesser-known NBA awards on Wednesday. Gilgeous-Alexander was a finalist for the Sportsmanship award and Williams was a finalist for the Teammate of the Year award.

Gilgeous-Alexander ended with 33 points (10-26 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 11-12 FT), six rebounds, three assists, two blocks and three steals over 35 minutes during Wednesday's 119-103 win over the Pistons. Gilgeous-Alexander had another outstanding performance to lead the Thunder to victory,

Alexander's MVP candidacy, noting that bias is acknowledged but should not overshadow the remarkable accomplishments he has achieved. According to Basketball Insiders reporter D.J. Siggiq, Williams stated,

Anthony, the 10th leading scorer in NBA history, is a big fan of Gilgeous-Alexander, who leads the league in total points and points per game this season. A Hall of Famer, Anthony said Gilgeous-Alexander reminds him of Dwyane Wade, who is in the Hall of Fame as well and considered one of the top shooting guards of all time.
