Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders have gone live for the first time via one retailer, who may have also leaked the Nintendo Switch 2 price.

Nintendo Switch exclusive game Astral Chain apparently has a sequel in development from PlatinumGames, for Nintendo Switch 2.

Nintendo showed the world its Switch 2 platform for the first time last week and also debuted a new title in its hugely popular Mario Kart series. The new platform will go on sale later this year, and builds on the successful concept of its predecessor with upgraded graphics performance and features.

Nintendo ( NTDOY 2.25%) stock rose 2.5% through 11:45 a.m. ET Wednesday after the Japanese video game giant confirmed that it will be releasing a successor to the popular Nintendo Switch gaming console later this year. It's name: Nintendo Switch 2.

Based on how the first Nintendo Switch launch went down, customers may be able to buy the Nintendo Switch 2 at the earliest in June 2025.
