Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy will resume talks with U.S. President Donald Trump's envoys in Berlin, after the U.S. side said a lot of progress had been made on ending Europe's deadliest conflict since World War Two.

The president said he had exchanged “pretty strong words” with European leaders, while Russia signaled it saw itself as increasingly on the same page as the U.S.

European Union leaders have committed to funding Ukraine's economic and military needs for the next two years.

Germany will host U.S. and Ukrainian delegations over the weekend for talks on a ceasefire in Ukraine, before a summit with European leaders and President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in Berlin on Monday, a German official said.
