Maple Leafs Circle Back on Trade for Top-4 D-Man
According to TSN’s Pierre LeBrun, the Toronto Maple Leafs have circled back on trade talks involving defenseman Rasmus Andersson of the Calgary Flames.
Only 29 games into the 2025-26 season, Toronto has already deployed four different goaltenders in at least three starts apiece.
During the night, the Maple Leafs will pay tribute to Bowen, who has announced this will be his final season behind the mic for their games, ending a run that started Oct. 6, 1982, with a game against the Blackhawks at Chicago Stadium.
The Maple Leafs must become adept at identifying such opportunities. But they must also be realistic. Someone like Reichel won’t change the team overnight. If anything, he could be a welcome addition to the middle six. His eagerness to prove he belongs could put him in a similar spot as Nick Robertson, for instance.
