At over 3.5 million units sold in just four days, the Nintendo Switch 2 is now the fastest-selling game console of all time, and shows no signs of stopping, with some retailers still having trouble keeping them in stock.

Nintendo is a lot of things to a lot of people for a lot of different reasons. Mario helps, and so do the host of other iconic first-party titles and the movies, toys, theme parks, and endless other IP offshoots they spawned.

Some 3.5 million units sold in four days is fantastic but doesn’t override the “Mario Kart World” price or ROG Xbox Ally gamble.
