Good news—the new app will also work on older watches running Wear OS 2.

Google’s official “Wear OS” app reaches new Play Store downloads milestone just as the Pixel Watch and other smartwatches make it irrelevant.

Both of those features were removed in Wear OS 3. The app isn’t actually available for download in the Play Store but rather only appeared using a clever workaround involving the Google Assistant.
