Emma Raducanu suffered a first-round exit for the second straight tournament on Tuesday, falling in straight sets to Marketa Vondrousova at the Abu Dhabi Open.

Emma Raducanu suffered a third straight defeat in the opening round of the Abu Dhabi Open. The 22-year-old was beaten 6-3 6-4 by former Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova to add to her losses to Iga Swiatek in the third round of the Australian Open and to Cristina Bucsa in Singapore last week.

The Brit, who crashed out of the Singapore Open earlier this week in a three-set slugfest to world No. 101 Cristina Bucsa, was initially given a qualifying wildcard but had been upgraded to the main draw. The new wildcard was awarded after a flurry of withdrawals due to injury, with Raducanu hoping to bounce back without a permanent coach in place.

Emma Raducanu could next look to play at the Qatar Open on Sky Sports Tennis from February 9-15 after a third early exit of the year already; Raducanu lost to Marketa Vondrousova at the Abu Dhabi Open
