As the New York Giants look ahead to the NFL Draft in possibly looking for their quarterback of the future, there is some speculation that they can look to free agency and sign a veteran like Sam Darnold. With the Giants looking to free agency to address some deficiencies, there are some who warn the team about going for a quarterback like Darnold.

As such, Minnesota will be in prime position to revive another former starting quarterback's career in 2025 -- potentially as McCarthy's backup and/or his competition. The Vikings signed former New York Giants signal-caller Daniel Jones after he was cut mid-season and bringing him back is an option if Darnold departs.

Simms isn’t the only ex-NFL quarterback to call for the Giants to sign Darnold, who once played for the Jets.
