President-elect Donald Trump named Mark Burnett — the man who created the television show The Apprentice that helped catapult him to the presidency — as a special envoy to the UK.
The scope of Burnett’s diplomatic role was not immediately clear. Such posts are usually set up for countries where there are conflicts or the U.S. has no diplomatic presence.
In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump said Burnett "brings a unique blend of diplomatic acumen and international recognition to this important role."
