Tropical Storm Gabrielle could form Wednesday and it may reach hurricane strength in the coming days, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Tropical Storm Gabrielle formed Wednesday in the Atlantic Ocean but was far from land, forecasters said.

Most of the computer models that meteorologists use to forecast storms show Gabrielle staying far out to sea and not directly affecting U.S. shores.
