The lawsuit alleges Fall River's Gabriel House didn't have emergency response procedures in place leading up to last week’s fatal fire.

Resident Steven Oldrid alleged that he was “trapped in his room, suffered smoke inhalation, respiratory distress, and loss of consciousness” during the July 13 blaze.

A 69-year-old man is the first resident to sue the Gabriel House and its management following a fire that killed 10 people and injured many.
