Just over an hour before he was set to take the course at TPC Southwind for the final round of the St. Jude Championship, the golf world learned Scottie Scheffler won't have caddie Ted Scott on the bag.

Scottie Scheffler heads into the final round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship Sunday without longtime caddie Ted Scott, who returned home unexpectedly for a family matter, according to the PGA Tour.

Ahead of Sunday's final round at TPC Southwind, the PGA Tour confirmed that Scheffler would go with his stand-in caddie Brad Payne. Scott had to unexpectedly head home to Louisiana for a family emergency.
