The NHL trade deadline is a little over a week away and the Maple Leafs seem poised to add. But without any highly sought-after roster pieces, it’s possible the Leafs dip into their prospect pool to deal for help at centre and on the blue line.

It’s a week and a half until the trade deadline and coming out of the Four Nations, things have been relatively quiet after some movement before the tournament.

We’re looking only at assets the Leafs could conceivably move ahead of the March 7 trade deadline, not the ones we know aren’t going anywhere. We’ve bunched them into five tiers — from the assets that figure to have the most value (tier 1) to those with the least (tier 5).
