After being a no-show for the first couple days of Yankees camp, Marcus Stroman arrived on Friday and made clear his expectations for 2025.

Stroman arrived at Yankees camp after causing a stir with his absence earlier in the week. He was the Yankees’ only healthy pitcher who chose not to participate in the team’s opening workouts. “I don’t think there was a need for me to be here in the last few days, given the climate,” Stroman said.

Nonetheless, Yankees manager Aaron Boone isn’t concerned about that possibility. He reiterated on Friday, speaking after Stroman, that the right-hander is ready to go both physically and mentally. He’s not worried about Stroman’s refusal to changing his role because right now, he is a starter.
