Four tents are being erected in what’s known as El Punto in Ciudad Juárez across the border from El Paso to temporarily house Mexican migrants deported from the U.S. under the Trump administration.

President Donald Trump's promises of mass deportations, which could bring batches of new arrivals fresh off the border bridges into Juárez, has Mexican law enforcement preparing to keep watch for potential trouble.

"It's unprecedented," said Ciudad Juarez municipal official Enrique Licon as workers unloaded long metal bracings from tractor trailers parked in the large empty lot yards from the Rio Grande in order to build a tent city for deportees from the United States.

Mexico on Tuesday continued to prepare for President Donald Trump’s promised mass deportations by setting up the first of nine migrant attention centers on the border.

The Mexican border city of Ciudad Juarez is bracing for thousands of people to arrive after the Trump administration promised to crack down on illegal immigration. The situation is tense as existing migrant shelters won’t be enough to take masses of people in.
