As Thanksgiving festivities and travel wrap up in New York City, a wintry mix of snow and rain could affect those trying to get to and from the area. While holiday weather is top of mind, it’s never too early to take a look into the future.

The Old Farmer’s Almanac said in a newly released forecast that a White Christmas is unlikely in New York City, but further upstate will see snow. The city as a whole is expected to have sunny skies and minimal precipitation, according to The Old Farmer's Almanac.

A just-released Christmas weather travel outlook detailing the forecast for the nation gives us an early prediction.

Oneida and Madison counties got hit hard. The most snow fell on Clinton and New Hartford in Oneida County: 18 inches. Syracuse set a new record for Friday with 10.3 inches of snow. The previous record for that date was 8.8 inches set in 1958.
