More than 30 guests and staff were evacuated from a central London hotel after a fire started accidentally by a smoker. Firefighters raced to the three-star Mabledon Court between King’s Cross and St Pancras stations at around 2am on Saturday. Part of the basement was damaged. Around 36 people left the building before the brigade arrived.
Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters have been in attendance at a fire near Caledonian Road in Islington. The fire occurred at an indoor recycling centre, involving an industrial digger and an area of domestic waste.
A hotel fire in London in the early hours forced dozens to evacuate and led to four people being rescued. Firefighters were called to the fire on Mabledon Place, King's Cross, just before 2am today (September 27). A total of 36 people escaped the building before London Fire Brigade arrived at the scene.
