One person died Tuesday afternoon in a fatal head-on collision on U.S. Highway 101, south of Fortuna. Preliminary scanner traffic indicated reports of a collision and vehicle on fire just after 2 p.m.
A pedestrian was struck and killed on the 101 Freeway Tuesday morning, leaving traffic backed up for miles through the Woodland Hills area of Los Angeles. The crash was reported shortly before 6 a.m.
