Sunday’s game starts at 1 p.m. The game will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium Indianapolis, Ind. The game can be watched on CBS4 Miami and Paramount +. As of Friday evening, the Dolphins will be without tight end Darren Waller (hip), running back Jaylen Wright (knee) and cornerback Ethan Bonner (hamstring).
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones delivered the perfect start. He was sharp, effective and consistent, and he helped the Colts snap the NFL's longest active opening-day winless streak at 11.
More importantly, even without Charvarius Ward, Cam Bynum, and Xavien Howard last year, the Colts still held Nix to 130 passing yards in their 2024 matchup. It’s tough to see Payton pushing the passing game as much here, which makes the under a strong play.
“Lou, he was calling that game like a madman,” free safety Camryn Bynum said. “To be able to have the variety that he calls the game with, to be aggressive at times where we should, being passive in certain situations. Mixing it up made it hard for the offense to pick up. I got to see where Lou’s mind is at, and it’s going to be a fun year.”

As Bynum described, the Colts' defense threw a variety of different looks at Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins' offense. The coverages varied drastically from play to play and series to series. What Tagovailoa saw pre-snap often didn't match what he saw at the top of his drop. And then there were the blitzes from all different parts of the field.

SB Nation on MSNThat was the best game the Colts have played in a really long time
Recent times have been inconsistent at best for the Indianapolis Colts. There have been quite a few downs, but there have also been some ups in there as well. What we witnessed Sunday against the Dolphins was encouraging,
Indianapolis Colts' center Tanor Bortolini faced a fair amount of questions coming into the season. The 23-year-old sophomore had a decent rookie season in 2024, but this year, he has been tasked with replacing long-time starter Ryan Kelly as the center. It may have only been week one, but Bortolini certainly looked like he belonged on Sunday.
