A person was shot in an incident involving U.S. Border Patrol in Arizona on Tuesday, according to a Pima County Sheriff spokeswoman.

The Santa Rita Fire District reported the shooting took place in Pima County near milepost 15 of West Arivaca Road.

A shooting involving a US Border Patrol agent in Arivaca, Arizona, is under investigation, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said.

There was no immediate information on the person's identity, and it is unclear if any federal agents have been injured.
