Tommy Fleetwood’s disappointment at another failure to secure his first PGA Tour victory has been tempered by confirmation he has secured his place on Europe’s Ryder Cup team.

Monday saw not only two new automatic qualifiers added to the U.S. Ryder Cup team. The European squad also has two new auto spots claimed.

Justin Rose made up a three-shot deficit over the last five holes against hard-luck Tommy Fleetwood, and then made two birdies in a playoff against U.S. Open champion J.J. Spaun to win the FedEx St. Jude Championship on Sunday.
