Nordstrom locations on both sides of Boston are set to close, the retail giant said Tuesday. The Nordstrom locations at the Northshore Mall in Peabody and the South Shore Plaza in Braintree will both cease operations within the first few months of 2025, a company spokesperson revealed to Boston 25 News.

BRAINTREE — The TGI Fridays at the South Shore Plaza closed for good on Monday, an employee there confirmed, leaving only five locations left in the state for the once-thriving national chain.

Nordstrom locations at the Northshore Mall in Peabody and the South Shore Plaza in Braintree will close over the next two months, according to a statement provided to Patch on Tuesday. A spokesperson for the national upscale department store chain said the leases are expiring at both locations and the decision was made not to renew them in order to best "serve customers in the area by leveraging our surrounding stores and through our digital channels.
