A potentially historic blizzard continues in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where snowfall totals could reach 1 to 3 feet and up to 4 feet possible in higher terrain.
The National Weather Service in Muskegon recorded gusts reaching as high as 52 mph Monday as whiteout conditions created a haze of blowing sand and snow up and down the Lake Michigan coast.
Sheriff's Offices in Michigan's northern Lower Peninsula and Upper Peninsula advised residents to stay home and not travel the roads if possible.
Over 100,000 people are without power in Northern Michigan Monday night as the area deals with snow and ice. Much of the area is dealing with winter storm warnings, winter weather advisories and even blizzard warnings,
