Within the Houston Texans ' 40-20 victory over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 15, the offense saw an unexpected breakout from 2024 sixth-round pick Jawhar Jordan in his first-ever NFL game to help command the backfield while Woody Marks was sidelined with an ankle injury.
The No. 1 defense in the NFL got some help with a strong performance from C.J. Stroud and the Houston offense.
Certainly an underrated aspect of the Texans' victory would be their success in the third phase. Houston created a turnover via Jamal Hill's forced fumble on kick return early in the first quarter, and Jaylin Noel had a pair of huge kick returns to set the offense up nicely. The three plays were used to create 13 points for Houston.
The Arizona Cardinals' woes vs. the Houston Texans get worse after Bam Knight suffered an injury that led to him being carted off the field.
But with the task of the Cardinals at hand on their home field, the Texans still won't be overlooking the opposition en route to try and extend the streak to six. And for Houston's star pass-rusher, Will Anderson Jr., that starts with handing some major respect to Jacoby Brissett and what he can do for Arizona's offense.
The Texans remained at No. 7 in the AFC playoff race after beating Arizona as the Jaguars, Bills and Chargers also won.
