Gov. JB Pritzker vowed on late-night television to protect Texas House Democrats who fled to Illinois to try and stop the Republican-controlled state legislature from redrawing congressional district boundaries to the GOP’s advantage ahead of next year’s midterm election.

Lame-duck CBS late night host Stephen Colbert showed Illinois Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker just how gerrymandered the Land of Lincoln is after dozens of Texas Dem legislators stalled redistricting in their own state by decamping to Pritzker’s domain.

As Illinois shelters Texas Democrats who fled their state to stop a redistricting vote, Gov. JB Pritzker appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where the host confronted him with Illinois' heavily gerrymandered electoral map.
