News just broke that Ford is recalling nearly a million vehicles due to a fuel pump defect. Find out if yours is affected.

A recall is underway for over 850,000 Ford and Lincoln vehicles that could have an issue with their low-pressure fuel pump that could cause engine stalls.

A remedy is not yet available, either. Ford says owners of these models will be notified when a fix is ready. Notably, the majority of the 850,000 units included in the recall are Broncos (109,881) and Ford F-150s (455,261) In any event, this recall further suggests that Ford dealerships will be busy with recall work for some time to come.

Fuel pump failure is “more likely to occur” during warm weather or if there’s low fuel in the tank, the recall report notes. And loss of fuel pressure and flow can be caused by internal contamination of a car’s jet pump, amid other factors. Ford also identified supplier changes during a review of the manufacturing process, the report adds.
