China expressed openness to trade talks with the US on Wednesday, under certain conditions, even after the White House clarified that "China now faces up to a 245% tariff on imports to the United States.

China has given the US President Donald Trump’s government some conditions before it will agree to trade talks with the United States. Bloomberg reports on Wednesday that China is willing to sit across the table with the US amid the trade war between both countries if the Trump administration shows more respect by reining in disparaging remarks

Many U.S. tech giants shifted their manufacturing toward Vietnam and other parts of Southeast Asia during the trade war with China in Trump’s first term. Those countries could be hit with sharply higher tariff rates but the so-called reciprocal tariffs are currently on pause.
