LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The man accused of shooting and critically injuring a southern Indiana sheriff's deputy has been killed in Louisville following a two-day manhunt.

Indiana State Police said Austin Schepers, 33, shot Orange County Sheriff's Deputy Zach Andry during a traffic stop on Highway 150 near West Baden on Friday at 12:30 a.m.

Metro Police officers located Schepers at a Jacobs neighborhood home Saturday night, where he was killed following a confrontation.

An Indiana deputy was shot and critically wounded while responding to a call in Orange County early Friday, and the suspect remains on the run.
