Elon Musk’s SpaceX is set to launch the first human spaceflight mission to fly over the Earth’s polar regions, funded and commanded by cryptocurrency investor Chun Wang.

The Falcon 9 and Resilience liftoff happened on Monday, March 31, at 9:46 PM EDT. After the launch, Falcon 9’s first stage booster made its way back to Earth, landing on SpaceX’s autonomous droneship, A Shortfall of Gravitas, positioned downrange in the Atlantic Ocean.

SpaceX (SPACE) is preparing for a groundbreaking human spaceflight that will venture over Earth's polar regions — a first of its kind. The privately funded mission, dubbed Fram2, is led by cryptocurrency investor Chun Wang and is scheduled to launch Monday night from Florida aboard a Falcon 9 rocket.
