Dr. Figueroa obtained his B.A. degree in biology from New York University and his M.D. degree from Weill Cornell Medical College. He subsequently trained in Family Medicine at the New York Presbyterian Hospital - Columbia University Medical Center's Family Medicine Residency Program where he served as a chief resident. He remained a faculty member of the Columbia University Center for Family Medicine, completing a faculty development fellowship and obtaining an M.P.H. degree in Sociomedical Sciences from the Mailman School of Public Health with a concentration in health promotion and disease prevention. At Columbia University Medical Center he served as an outpatient attending physician, and provided instruction to medical students and family medicine residents in a number of areas including clinical family medicine, cross-cultural care/Latino health, primary care research methods, practice management and resident peer education & evaluation.Dr.
